The Making and Breaking of Mental Illness Stigma

This webinar is part of the Emotional Health Seminar hosted by the Department of Physiology, National University of Singapore. The webinar covered how different types of mental illness stigmas that are often taken as 'facts', are in reality, consequences of social constructions due to various sociocultural forces. These ideas are then perpetuated through language and practices during social interactions, and are reified over time. The webinar provides insights on ways to deconstruct and destigmatize mental illnesses across Asian populations.
